Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province with a total land area of 6,598 square kilometers and over 7.4 million residents, is situated in one of the largest economic zones of China, the Yangtze River Delta, which is in humid subtropical climate zone. It's called Ning for short. It served as the capital of China during ten historical periods, including six dynasties. And it is also listed as one of the Four Great Ancient Capital of China.
